Booth Blast Operator – Long-Term Contract with the possibility of Direct Hire

Our client, a global company that partners with large, well-known manufacturers in the automotive industry in the areas of design, prototype, test, integrate, manufacture and assemble in the areas of e-Mobility, Autonomous Vehicles, performance vehicles, race cars, etc., is in need of a Blast Booth Operator at their Livonia, MI location. This position is a long-term contract with the possibility of direct hire.
Job Summary:
The primary responsibilities of this position include product handling, prepping/masking product for blast, and safe operation of air powered media blasting equipment. Operator will work in an enclosed booth, wearing protective suit, helmet, and respirator.
Hours: Monday – Friday 6:00am 2:30pm. Occasional Saturdays 6:00am to 4:30pm (when needed)
Pay: $18.00 – $19.00/Hr.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare metal for painting through sandblasting.
- Prep/Mask parts as necessary using tape, plugs, etc.
- Perform daily non-technical maintenance routines on blast equipment
- Clean blast booth, filters, and surrounding area.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes according to safe operating procedures (with training and licensing provided).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of Booth Blasting experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 1+ years of Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60lbs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form.
- Good attendance and punctuality.
- Concern for quality.
- Attention to detail.
