Our client, engineering services corporations that provides full-cycle services for engineering & design and manufacturing for over 65 years, is in need of a Quality Manager based out of their facility in Troy, MI. The position is direct with competitive salary and benefits.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Maintain and administer the company’s AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems, ensuring standards remain current, implemented, and understood across the organization.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, sales, and engineering to improve quality performance and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Review customer quality requirements and reporting needs; ensure organizational understanding and compliance.
- Interface with manufacturing and engineering to improve product quality, reduce scrap, and drive process improvements.
- Conduct internal audits and analyze data using statistical techniques; support supplier development initiatives.
- Lead complaint resolution activities and coordinate root cause and corrective action efforts using formal problem-solving methodologies.
- Manage document control systems, including development, maintenance, and reporting for:
- Quality Manual
- Standard Practice Books (SPB)
- Work Instructions
- Forms
- Coordinate periodic document reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Plan, schedule, conduct, and report on internal audits; manage overall audit execution. - Prepare departmental reports, including corrective actions, internal audit results, and management review inputs.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and external standards; recommend and monitor continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, identify improvement opportunities, and oversee corrective and preventive actions.
- Track, evaluate, and report all quality-related metrics.
- Perform managerial and related duties necessary to support continuous improvement of quality processes and procedures.
Health & Safety
- Plan, review, update, and implement Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, including reporting requirements.
Advise and lead employees on safety-related topics and best practices. - Develop and deliver safety training through educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations.
- Improve the onboarding process for new employees with a focus on health and safety requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive and corrective measures as needed.
- Ensure management and supervision consistently enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Track, evaluate, and report all health and safety metrics.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work independently and complete duties with minimal supervision.
- Experience in the Aerospace and Automotive industries strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards and quality concepts.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database and spreadsheet applications, and internet-based tools.
