Our client is a non-automotive company that is rapidly growing seeking a Purchasing Agent to join their team. This role is ideal for a someone who has at least 5 years of experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment and enjoys the benefits of working within a fast paced growing organization that takes care of their employees. Job Duties:
Create and update suppliers and all pertinent data including prices, lead-times, minimums, etc. in our ERP
Manage supplier relationships, supplier agreements, and supplier review
Research and vet new suppliers to replace parts currently sourced overseas and replacement or secondary sourced parts domestically as well
Review prospective design changes for parts from R&D and coordinate changes with suppliers, production, and the warehouse
Coordinate strategic purchasing discussions with purchasing team with sister company
Manage part quality issues related to suppliers and handle internal procedures (returns/credits)
Work with incoming inspection, Nonconforming Material (NCM), and part quality issues
Set-up purchasing parameters and verify purchasing orders and manage long-term
Ensure purchasing reminders and follow-up is managed properly
Manage overall inventory control to meet inventory levels and turnover requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor in Business, supply chain management designation preferred
5 years of experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment
Purchasing experience in a small manufacturing environment preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Proficiency in an ERP and Inventory Management System
Analytical and planning proficiency
Being a team player is a requirement
A flexible work schedule; ability to work afterhours/weekends on an as needed basis
