Our client, a global company that partners with large, well-known manufacturers in the automotive industry in the areas of design, prototype, test, integrate, manufacture and assemble in the areas of e-Mobility, Autonomous Vehicles, performance vehicles, race cars, etc., is in need of a Automotive Mechanic Senior at their Allen Park, MI location. This position is a long-term contract with the possibility of direct hire.
The Automotive Mechanic Senior will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic Senior mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met.
Hours: Monday – Friday 11 hours/day, Saturday 8 hours
Pay: $25.00 – $29.00/HR.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
- Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
- Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers.
- Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
- Lead daily shop organization and clean-up.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others.
- Has own tools with rolling toolbox.
- Certificate in Automotive Technology or related.
- State Mechanic Certification(s).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers.
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekend.
