Our client, a global company that partners with large, well-known manufacturers in the automotive industry in the areas of design, prototype, test, integrate, manufacture and assemble in the areas of e-Mobility, Autonomous Vehicles, performance vehicles, race cars, etc., is in need of a Dynamometer Technicians at their Livonia, MI location. This position is a long-term contract with the possibility of direct hire.
The Dynamometer Technician is responsible for engine set-up, including instrumentation, monitoring the test while it’s running, and for engine removal. They will also be supporting programs that require powertrain mapping, combustion analysis, emission testing and engine power/mechanical development.
Looking for general technician with iTest, ADAPT, Horiba emissions bench experience, and general automotive mechanical experience.
Hours:
1st shift: Monday – Friday 7:45am to 4:15pm
2nd shift: Monday – Friday 3:45pm to 12:15am
Pay: $21.00 – $26.00/ HR.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of powertrain dynamometer testing experience.
Must have excellent engine mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
Proficient with computers, including MS Office applications and dynamometer controls operation experience.
Able to perform simple fabrications.
Engine teardown/build skills and able to follow an engine assembly manual.
Powertrain calibration, diagnostics or controls experience.
Experience or training with AVL PUMA 2.0 and/or A & D iTest dynamometer controls.
Must have own tools and a rolling tool box.
Must be willing to learn and able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Must be flexible, eager to learn and have a strong attention to detail.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and customer service skills
