The position reports to the General Manager, Maumee
Monday – Friday 8A-5P plus occasional evenings and weekends as needed
Our client, a leading manufacturer of cold-formed components, is in need of an Engineering Manager for their facility located in Maumee, OH. The position is direct with the company and provides a competitive base salary and benefits package.
Summary
Directs and coordinates activities of Engineering resources to obtain optimum efficiency and overall safety of operations by performing the following duties personally or through team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Takes appropriate measures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
- Establishes and maintains a culture of mutual respect and ownership that motivates teamwork daily
- Drives continuous improvement through strategies and programs to improve productivity and efficiency
- Develops and owns key measurable tracking, reporting and actions to meet established targets
- Able to achieve goals while fostering a strong relationship with union and fair and consistent application of the union contract
- Identifies and provides opportunities for growth and development of team members
- Establishes standards and policies for installation, modification, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, as well as contingency planning
- Develops and maintains capacity and overall future plans for equipment and plant layout to support continuous improvement and future business
- Oversees the effective use of the Engineering Change System
- Responsibility over day-to-day priorities of Engineering resources
- Supports new product development and program launch when needed
- Supports employee meetings on a regular basis to communicate company, supplier or customer information
- All other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Lead, Manage, and Accountability for Engineering resources
Qualifications / Experience / Education
- Agree to Employee Handbook
- Pass pre-employment screening (e.g., drug test, background check)
- Plex experience preferred
- Solid Works, Solid Edge, and AutoCAD preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with minimum five years of related experience OR minimum ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with unions preferred
- Previous metal forming manufacturing experience preferred
- Technical team leadership / management
