This position serves as a working lead, reporting to the Tool Room Supervisor while providing day-to-day direction and work assignments to team members. The ideal candidate is a strong die repair expert with extensive bench work experience and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve tooling and press-related issues.

Hours: Monday – Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm

Pay: $35.00 – $37.00/HR.

Position: Full Time, Direct Hire

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and prioritize daily work assignments for Tool & Die team members.
  • Work side-by-side with technicians to support production and ensure tooling performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve recurring quality issues and equipment downtime.
  • Diagnose die and press-related problems and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Perform die maintenance, repair, rebuilding, and timing adjustments on: Progressive Dies and Transfer Dies
  • Conduct die changeovers and maintenance to ensure production readiness.
  • Maintain fixtures, gauges, and tooling to support quality standards.
  • Utilize blueprints, sketches, and specifications to perform repairs and modifications.
  • Inspect completed work using precision measuring and gauging equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Train and mentor team members on best practices and troubleshooting techniques.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of Tool & Die experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong die repair, bench work, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with progressive and transfer dies.
  • Experience supporting high-volume automotive stamping operations
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve tooling and press issues quickly and effectively.
  • Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to direct work and mentor team members.
  • Strong understanding of tool room repair and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Journeyman Toolmaker Card preferred, or equivalent experience.
