Contract role: 6 months – 1 year

Location:  Northville (Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Hours:  Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Position Summary:  This role primarily supports supply chain risk monitoring and communication activities. The Supply Chain Risk & Sustainability Specialist is responsible for coordinating supplier risk surveys, tracking responses, and maintaining accurate status reporting during supply chain disruption events. This position plays a key role in ensuring timely communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders, helping to provide visibility into potential impacts without direct ownership of mitigation decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily supply chain risk alerts via email (e.g., natural disasters, fires, geopolitical events) and initiate appropriate response actions.
  • Identify potentially impacted suppliers using internal databases and filter data (e.g., by location or region).
  • Generate and distribute supplier risk surveys using established templates, adjusting content based on the specific risk event.
  • Track supplier responses and maintain accurate, up-to-date status logs (e.g., impacted, not impacted, pending).
  • Follow up with suppliers on missing or incomplete survey responses.
  • Maintain and update tracking spreadsheets to document supplier impact and response status.
  • Communicate survey results and risk status updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Escalate impacted suppliers to appropriate internal teams (e.g., purchasing, customers) for further action.
  • Support reporting efforts by preparing summaries of supplier responses, impacted parts, and overall risk status.
  • Assist in managing multiple risk events simultaneously while maintaining organization and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with team members and receive training to support daily processes and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional administrative and coordination tasks as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up and tracking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP preferred).
  • Ability to work efficiently with structured templates and processes.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, or automotive industry environments.
  • Familiarity with supplier communication or data tracking processes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
