POSITION TITLE:  Field Service Technician

LOCATION: Novi, MI

PAY:  $25-$27/hr.

Our client is a leader is water and wastewater industrial equipment. The position is direct with competitive salary and benefits. This position is based in Michigan but will travel nationally approximately 80% of the time.  Typical work week will be Monday through Friday overnights with the opportunity to be home most weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and systems at client locations. You will be tasked with diagnosing errors or technical problems that arise during the visit and determining what solution will be most effective in correcting it with minimal downtime. The company provides a wide variety of equipment and systems, including electric and hydraulic actuation systems, valves, gates, chemical feed systems, instrumentation, pumps, flow metering equipment, and sampling equipment. Aside from assisting our clients before and during the implementation of their solutions, we continue to service our clients well after the project is over. Our field service capabilities are numerous and continue to grow.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:

This position is based in Michigan but will travel nationally approximately 80% of the time.  Typical work week will be Monday through Friday overnights with the opportunity to be home most weekends.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Installation of new equipment and systems
• Configuring hardware and software components after installation
• Field supervision of third-party installation contractors
• Troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance
• Operation and maintenance training for clients
• Instrument calibration.
• Valve and pump service and repair
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the service
• Regular attendance at work
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School graduate, GED or equivalent
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Mechanical aptitude with a high level of problem-solving skills
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to climb ladders and lift and carry 50 pounds
• Ability to work successfully as a team and independently with moderate supervision
• Willingness to travel and work according to a changing schedule
• Ability to work in dirty and confined spaces
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
