Our client, a world market leader in providing liquid and gas filtration equipment, is seeking a Service Technician based out of their Novi location with 25% – 50% travel. The position is direct with a competitive base salary and benefits.

Salary: $50K – $65K
Job Description:
For our headquarters in Novi, MI we need an experienced field service technician to support our growing equipment installations within our main applications for water treatment, protection of diesel engines including lube oil and fuel systems onshore and on ocean going vessels. For this role, we are looking for a team player who can confidently and efficiently provide our customers with reliable installations, repairs, and maintenance of their filtration equipment. This position is a critical part of our success, reporting directly to the sales director and essential to support our aggressive organic growth targets.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and implementing all in‐field activity in the North American marketplace, or other, with primary emphasis on ensuring the proper functionality of all installed filter products.
- Quoting service work to customers and proactively following up on outstanding quotes
- Repairing of our filtration equipment at customer sides.
- Providing customer service & support on all filter equipment including courtesy visits, training customers on the functionality and maintenance of filter products.
- Assisting customers with filter installations.
- Providing remote troubleshooting.
- Arranging customer site visits and booking corresponding travel arrangements.
- Generating proper paperwork for purchase order creation and ensuring paperwork is submitted for invoicing.
- Communicating and working with our parent company in Germany.
- Researching parts for repairs based on our filter drawings and database.
- Researching for industry specifics and validate solutions.
- Actively use our CRM tool to record interaction with customers and prospects.
- Plan all work quarterly, yearly, and report progress weekly.
Requirements:
- A mechanical aptitude of equipment (factory training provided)
- Experience working with filtration equipment highly preferred
- Ability to travel up to 2 weeks at a time
- Available for occasional emergency based next day travel
- US passport, valid Driver License and a good driving record
- TWIC Card (may obtain after employment begins)
- Detail oriented and mathematically competent
- Self‐motivated and persistent
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including but not limited to lifting equipment and tools over 50lbs, climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in varying environments including but not limited to ocean vessels, industrial factories, power plants, water and waste water plants, and outdoors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- This is an in-office role with up to 50% travel inside and outside of the US.
- This position is full time, nonexempt status. When not traveling, the employee will be expected to report to our regional office on Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week. Our 8 hours office hours are flexible between 7.30a.m. – 5.30p.m.
