Our client, a well-established Michigan-based precision Swiss CNC turning company is looking for a hands-on, organized, and dependable Logistics Supervisor to lead daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring inbound and outbound freight moves safely, accurately, and on schedule while supporting production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm, Weekend availability is required on an as-needed basis.
Pay: $27.00 – $30.00/HR

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead Shipping & Receiving Operations

  • Manage all inbound and outbound freight activity including scheduling, carrier coordination, and shipment documentation
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Prepare outbound shipments including picking, packing, labeling, and Bills of Lading
  • Coordinate pickups, deliveries, and freight claims with carriers and vendors
  • Ensure shipments are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time
  • Maintain accurate inventory and shipment records within PLEX and other systems

Supervise Warehouse Operations

  • Directly oversee and support the Material Handler
  • Assign daily priorities and ensure operational efficiency
  • Provide hands-on training and promote safe warehouse practices
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
  • Communicate daily operational needs and staffing concerns to leadership

Inventory & Equipment Management

  • Conduct cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy
  • Organize warehouse materials and storage locations efficiently
  • Monitor shipping supply inventory and reorder as needed
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to support daily operations
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance
  • Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the warehouse

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–3+ years of shipping & receiving experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Experience with PLEX ERP strongly preferred
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with LTL, FTL, and parcel shipping processes
  • Previous experience operating forklifts and warehouse equipment
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Strong understanding of shipping documents including BOLs, packing slips, and purchase orders
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing or 5S warehouse practices
