About the Company
Our client, a growing property management and maintenance services organization that supports condominium and homeowners’ associations throughout the region. They are in need of maintenance technicians based out of their location in Wyandotte with local travel to properties in Dundee, Ann Arbor, Wixom, Detroit and Oakland County. The position is direct with the company.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance across condominium and homeowners’ association properties. This role ensures buildings, systems, and common areas remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and able to troubleshoot a variety of maintenance issues. This position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to respond to maintenance needs as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on residential community buildings and systems
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting
- Conduct exterior building repairs including siding, gutters, and minor roofing work
- Complete drywall installation, replacement, and repairs
- Respond to service requests and maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain the physical integrity and appearance of community properties
- Communicate effectively with management and residents regarding maintenance needs
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance response
Position Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders exceeding 15 feet
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license and current DOT card
- Willingness to participate in rotating on-call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must own a personal set of maintenance tools
Technical Skills
- Basic plumbing repair
- Electrical troubleshooting and wiring
- Carpentry and general building repairs
- Drywall installation and repair
- Exterior repairs including roofing, siding, and gutter work
Preferred Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in property maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related trade
- Experience working in residential communities, property management, or building maintenance
