Materials Manager

Salary:  $85K-$110K

Hours:  7am-3:30pm

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Third Party Warehousing and distribution operation providing domestic and international customers with solutions to their logistics needs in need of a Materials Manager.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Manages all aspects of operations (daily activities, equipment maintenance, facility maintenance) to drive best in class material management practices.
• Manage and supervise customer service, logistics analysts, material handling personnel and provide leadership in the areas of inventory management, EDI, WMS, and supply chain.
• Plan, supervise and monitor daily work assignments to achieve high level of performance and balance workloads to maintain processes, high accuracy, and work efficiency.
• Responsible for controlling shipping, receiving and inventory accuracy to industry best practices utilizing warehouse management system.
• Manage and maintain warehouse equipment, supplies, and facility and oversee maintenance and repair.
• Collaborate with internal and external resources to optimize operational performance.
• Analyze data/metrics and KPI’s to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to achieve best or exceed best-in-class performance.
• Oversee efficient handling of order shipping and order receipt process includes control of BOL’s, Shipper, Commercial invoice, Month end reports.
• Support the CEO in improvement and growth strategies.

Required skills:

• 5 years of leadership and management skills in warehouse/supply chain management.
• Prior track record of success in operations and driving process improvements.
• Excellent proven knowledge of WMS and operations.
• Excellent computer skills navigating though web, MS products and other software.
• Motivated professional with attention to detail and passion for optimizing operations.
• Prior experience in automotive industry and warehouse experience is a must (small) environment preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5-10 years’ experience in logistics/warehouse industry.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at desk and computer.
• Work in warehouse environment.
